Boys Varsity Football · Lima Senior to open 2019 football season against LCC

Lima Senior High School and Lima Central Catholic High School will square off at Spartan Stadium to kick off the 2019 high school football season.

Lima Senior and LCC Athletic Directors John Zell and Frank Kill announced the game at a news conference held Tuesday prior to the annual LSH vs. LCC boys basketball game.

The game will be the first time the two schools have met during the regular or playoff football season.

“We are excited to partner with Lima Senior High School to bring a terrific event to our community,” Kill said. “To have both schools come together for the first time ever and play a friendly competitive game shows the growth in Lima. We hope that members of the community come out and support both schools.”

“This is going to be an exciting and fun night for both our schools and the entire community,” Zell added. “We see the kind of interest and enthusiasm that is generated when we face off on the basketball court. I expect the same will be true on the football field.”

The game will be played at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30, at Spartan Stadium. The two schools will split the ticket and concession sales from the game.
