Basketball players earn TRAC honors

Lima Senior High School senior BJ Miller has earned First Team All-TRAC Basketball honors.  Junior Jaleel King was named Second Team, and Honorable Mention awards went to senior Jatsiel Colon and  sophomore Jermaine Daniel. On the girls side, Lady Spartan sophomore Nakiya Sigman earned Second Team All-TRAC Basketball honors. Honorable Mention honors went to juniors Destiny

Lady Spartan basketball wins Sectionals

The Lima Senior High School girls basketball team beat Toledo Start 53-26 Thursday to win its first Sectional Title in four years. Destiny McDonald led the Lady Spartans with 17 points and Nakiya Sigman and Taja Oglesbee both added 10 points. Reverse Raffle coming May 12, get tickets now

The Lima Senior High School Athletics Department will hold its annual Reverse Raffle May 12 at the American Legion Post 96, 711 S. Shore Drive. The event begins at 6 p.m., with the first raffle ticket being drawn at 6:30 p.m. Dinner will begin at 6:30 p.m. This year’s reverse raffle payout is $5,000. There

Russell wins TRAC, named Wrestler of the Year

Lima Senior wrestler Naeem Russell won the TRAC (Three Rivers Athletic Conference) championship at 152 pounds this past weekend. Russell was also named the TRAC Wrestler of the Year. Russell, a junior, has only lost one match this season. His current record is 34-1.

Christine Stump Duncan’s jersey retired

The Lima Senior High School Athletic Department has retired the jersey of basketball standout Christine Stump Duncan. Duncan’s jersey was first retired in 1979, when she was a senior at LSH. The school district did not start officially retiring jerseys until many years later. Duncan was a three-year varsity starter in volleyball, basketball and softball.
