The Lady Spartans are ready for this weekend’s Kewpee Tip Off Classic at Bath and then begin regular season play at home against Shawnee Nov. 29. Coach Halliday talks about his team and expectations for the season here.

Lima Senior High School basketball player Sylvia Upthegrove has signed her National Letter of Intent to continue her academic and athletic career at Albion College next year. Upthegrove lettered twice for the Lady Spartan basketball team and played soccer for Lima Senior for four years.

Lima Senior’s B.J. Miller has been named to the Division I All-Northwest Ohio Basketball Second Team. Joining him is Lady Spartan basketball player Nakiya Sigman. Jaleel King earned Honorable Mention honors.

Lima Senior High School senior BJ Miller has earned First Team All-TRAC Basketball honors.  Junior Jaleel King was named Second Team, and Honorable Mention awards went to senior Jatsiel Colon and  sophomore Jermaine Daniel. On the girls side, Lady Spartan sophomore Nakiya Sigman earned Second Team All-TRAC Basketball honors. Honorable Mention honors went to juniors Destiny

The Lima Senior High School girls basketball team beat Toledo Start 53-26 Thursday to win its first Sectional Title in four years. Destiny McDonald led the Lady Spartans with 17 points and Nakiya Sigman and Taja Oglesbee both added 10 points.
